Dr. Jean Williams-Woodward is an Associate Professor and Extension Plant Pathologist at the University of Georgia and based in Athens, Georgia.
Dr. Woodward came to UGA after receiving her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She received her Ph.D. in plant pathology from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul.
She is primarily responsible for developing educational programs on diseases of ornamental plants, their control in commercial greenhouses nurseries and landscapes. She works in urban and commercial forestry including Christmas trees and legume forages.
She works closely with the UGA Plant Disease Clinic in Athens and is responsible for developing disease management and recommendations for commercial ornamental and forestry samples. She also teaches courses on plant disease diagnosis, clinical plant pathology, and ornamental pest management.
